Vietnaaaam! My dream trip ...finally! But backpacking with a baby under 1 could be one of the most challenging things you can do. So I took my time to pack my back (well, Philipp's Backpack) Here you can find everything I picked and my reason to it ;) Later I will tell you what I shouldnt have packed, what I should, what I forgot.. or maybe I packed to perfection! hahaha as if? The most important for this vacation was sun protection. Pepa is under one year and needs a lot of protection against the asia sun. So I decided to go for the SS17 TinyCottons Moujik Bathing suit and surf shirt that has 50 SPF protection. I got it from LittleHipstar Store (amazing customer service btw) I was deciding to go for the Sun Hat from Tiny Cottons as well, but got Pepa a beautiful MarMar Copenhagen Sun Hat I can combine with regular clothes too. SunBlock is a must, but please check the age of your baby and the ingredients of it...Sun block can be dangerous for babies. Some water spray is great for hot weather. I got Baby Evian during my trip to France last week, but you can get it in Amazon here. I decided to go for my most colorful bikinis and no straps as I will indeed be on tank tops a lot. I use alwasy sun block on my face to avoid wrinkles, but once in a while when I am already tanned, I use Sun accelerator... baaad me, bad! Oh yeah! i avoided the bikinis pepa can pull a string and baaaaam naked butt in the beach! I decided for Pastel and blues for Pepa in this vacation. Blouses, tshirts, tank tops and loads of shorts. Tops from left to right: Zara Tunica, Piñata Pum Tank top, Zara blouse (similar here) Carters tunica, Gray label shirt. Bottoms from left to right: Bobo Choses Bloomers, Carters jeans bloomers, Handmade Rapunzel bloomers from We are knitters. Me color as always ;) mostly black, grey and white :) I added some rose colored shorts as well. I am in love with the fabrics from T by alexander wang so I mostly use those in summer.. but the other tops are perfect for summer too and super soft as well. Tops from left to right: T by Alexander Wang Tank top, Arnie Says Plain white tshirt, Theory Charcoal tank top, T by Alexander Wang cream tshirt, Acne Studios V-Neck Tshirt, T by Alexander Wand grey tank top Bottoms from left to right: Bikbok hot pants, Silk shorts from Veronica B Vallenes, Zara hot pants, track hot pants, ASOS High waist hot pants Bringing for Pepa a pair of grey spring trousers for norther Vietnam, as it is colder there as well as a jeans overall we found in a store in France and 2 blouses from Zara as well, one is a body/blouse that had long arms and I tailored it to be a short arm shirt.. writing a blogpost soon on how to do this. For the Island of Pho Quoc, 2 dresses from Baby GAP and a jeans dress with bloomers and hat we found in a small store in France. For me, a pink jumpsuit I bought in a tiny french store in Verona, A blouse shirt from Samsøe & Samsøe, The Art Dress from Rodebjer (my favorite for a sunburn) a Mikoh white beach romper and a Blue Ralph Lauren Jumpsuit. I am bringing a Imps & Elfs Muslin Cover for warm days, or protect Pepa from the sun, A Towel from Numero 74, a Numero 74 blanket made smaller to use as a bibdana, Enfant DK scarf in rose and Numero 74 mustard scrf. Shoes and socks for Pepa... I bought a pair of sandals only to realize that I already had sandals on that size but almost in the same color... hahaha but well, I am bringing both. 1. ENFANT DK Brown sandals 2. Zara Kids sneakers 3. KAVAT Cognac Sandals and to use with sandals: Condor Socks.. always put socks on kids or babies in summer, you will avoid blisters and feet pain, we do that in warm countries...always! As someone isnt german enough if they don't bring a pair of Adiletten, I got myself a pair. Taking my favorite Sneakers AF1 from Nike and a pair of summer sandals as well. Found finally some Silk socks for summer at & Other Stories and I cant get enough of them. Silk gets wam when the weather gets colder, and colder when hotter. Best material! DIAPERS! loads of them as I dont know when will I find them again, swimming diapers, Baby Formula and food for 10 days. I have never been in vietnam so I rather been prepared than sorry, I know that I have a week to find food, diapers and Milk and that just gives me a piece of mind. I found in a French supermarket food in bags instead of jars, that makes it lighter to carry and I am less worry about spillage. OUTWEAR: A wind Jacket from United Colors of Benetton for Pepa and a summer cardigan from FUB. For me a Arnie Says Summer sweater and a Filippa K Spring parka for our day tour at Halong bay. It is windy and we rather be prepared :)
I packed a backpack with some travel stuff like 3 toys, water, diaper bag, 2 baby bottles, desinfection spray and wipes, regular wipes, 2 fruit meals, 3 pacifiers, our Marsupi carrier, a thermometer, cables, chargers, camera, computer, wallet, documents, cream, eye drops a hat i got last minute for Pepa and earphones. And that is it, all that is what I packed for almost a month backpacking with a baby. I will let you know what I missed, what I never used and what was an essential! Good bye Germany and Hello Vietnam!

This is how I realised I should start a blog about being mom.. Or "Mom" like me! I hope to share my thoughts, amazing, things I buy and amazing recipes with other moms, just like me! Archives
